Introduction to Conference:

The need to build more infrastructures is created through increasing worldwide population; therefore our environment continues to deteriorate, including depressing major resources such as air, water, and soil and ecosystem degradation. It must be understood that real progress is not accomplished by jeopardizing resources and ecology. In our progress and growth, we need to adopt sustainability. Sustainability is typically characterized as a set of environmental, economic and social conditions in which society is able to sustain and improve the quality eternally without reducing the amount and quality of natural, financial and social resources or their availability. Civil engineers have to take the lead to implement sustainability in the process of building different components and aspects of the infrastructure and they should progress toward incorporating ideas of sustainability into their work as their relevance is expanding for civil engineering. Appropriate human needs for natural resources, industrial products, energy, food, transport, housing, effective waste and material handling and the conservation and protection of the environmental quality and of the natural resources which will be essential for further development should be met in a sustainable engineering practice. Through cleaner technology and greener design concepts, civil engineers may contribute to the sustainable development solution. The civil engineers need to recognize their professional responsibilities, to expand knowledge and to engage in all policy decision-making levels.

Objectives of SPACE’22:

The International Conference on Sustainable Practices and Advancements in Civil Engineering (SPACE’22) aims to offer researchers, academicians, students, policy analysts, industrial experts and community with collaborative opportunities, where the most recent research and practice are shared, discussed and promoted in the area of sustainable infrastructure and civil engineering advances. This conference will provide the platform to develop and implement sustainable technologies and practices that minimize their impact on our environment. It promotes multidisciplinary and inviting engineers to express their opinions on the newest achievements and advances in civil engineering. The conference would be particularly important in constructing a dialogue network within a context of universities, industry and government links across countries, in order to establish new cooperation bridges in the field of sustainable civil engineering projects in particular.
